For the love of golf Thomas Bjorn is back
After a decade long gap from golfing, Thomas Bjorn is back in the golf course and is expected to appear at the Ryder Cup.
All in the love for golf. The prominent golfer, apart from defending his title at the Qatar Commercial Bank event, has also been able to reinstate his position and credibility at the Abu Dhabi tournament by winning it three times.
This time he was able to finish at the third position, after Tiger Woods and Graeme McDowell.
The Danish golfer said, "I went through a spell of maybe not finding golf all that much fun anymore".
He added that due to immense travelling and a busy schedule of the tournaments he was not able to provide adequate attention to other important things that were required.
It was earlier finalised in his agenda that he will only play the game for two years so that he can get the opportunity to play with some of the best players in the golfing world.
He said, "I think that recommitment kind of made me competitive again. It made me the player that I probably really want to be. Through a long career sometimes you just lose your track a little bit of what you're really trying to do".
He also said that he really needed time to reorganise and restructure himself, along with all the other commitments that he had to fulfil at other levels.
He was looking for a good finish and to end his golfing career in a rather eventful manner. Throughout his career, there have been numerous instances where he has proved to be the best.
He was able to defeat Tiger Woods at the Accenture Open and was able to lead at the Sandwich.
It was the same venue where he faced defeat in the year 2003, at the hands of Woods with the help of three shots.
Bjorn is currently supervising the committee that nominates different people for the Ryder Cup event and above all, he has also been showing interest to take part in the event himself.
However, it might not be possible for him to take part in the event before 2016.
