  1. Everything above is true.

If you are in a house that is close to bushland, you may end up with a carpet snake in your ceiling. This is not uncommon in Brisbane, however, they very rarely ever seen in the house and they do a super job at keeping rats and mice away. Also, carpet snakes are non-venemous and are not very aggressive.

No crocs in any of the water near Brissie, and most Shark attacks happen in the canals where people throw their fish waste which attracts them... this also very rarely happens.

Do not despair, I am sure you will enjoy Brisbane and will probably never see a croc, shark or snake while you are here.

  2. Lol

    don't worry about a thing

Snakes ARE NOT COMMON IN BRISBANE

Snakes are found out in the outback, deserts.

Also the croc attacks are mostly seen in the NORTHERN TERRITORY [in darwin]

No need to worry. I live not too far from Brisbane, been there many times and have never seen a snake once, and I'm TERRIFED of them Lol

  3. I agree with Michelle.

  4. Maybe in Townsville.  Worst you gotta contend with in Brisbane is a few garden spiders.

  5. as soon as you get to australia you will not see snakes slithering everywhere that is a big myth but sometimes in suburbia you will find a snake but usually its when it really dry and they are looking for water. if you see a snake just stand as still as you can and do not move or yell just let it go by. snakes are mainly found in the bush or outback. hope you have a good trip...

  6. Ha ha, No not at all - what you see on tv is true but in remote areas of Australia - Not in Brisbane. I have lived in Brisbane for 2 years and never seen a snake here or crocs or sharks. Dont worry about it.

  7. Crocs do not live anywhere near Brisbane. They are only in the Tropics . none have been as low down in the Country as Brisbane . They are all up North from about Rockhampton to the top. If you take atrip to Australia Zoo you can see some. All The GoldCoast beaches are netted . If a shark ever does get through the helicopter or life Guards would probably spot it and clear the water. What is more dangerous here is people going swimming after they have been to a night club and go out before the life Guards come on duty . We had a tragic drowning 2 days ago at 4 am and we get plenty of rescues . So always swim between the flags. You  will have more chance of winning the lottery than to have a snake come inside or even see one slithering about. They hybernate in winter and they are  just as frightened of you as you of them. I wouldn't run through long grass or if I was climbing rocks I would be on the look out but if they feel the vibration of anyone they will slither off for protection. have a great time here. i'm sure you will love it.
