For the people in this section..?

Everytime I answer a question, I get a thumbs down. WHY? I always try to say something that will benefit them and won't seem rude. Does this happen to anyone else?

I find people on here very weird. Complete strangers come here for advice anonymously so at least here they can ask something they are afraid/embarrassed to ask their own friends and people still manage to judge them and call names. I find it amazing to what point some people can be miserable and judgmental. There are no right or wrong answers here (in majority cases) and people will thumb you down just because they disagree with you.

Not all the time, but, yes it happens.  Sometimes, the whole page gets thumbed down in a matter of seconds.  Sometimes you can attract a "stalker" who thumbs you down on every answer, regardless.  That's life.  Forget about it.

i don't know why you get thumbs down if your answering correctly, positive and not being rude. Are you sure about your answers?

So do I. I always try to defend women on here when people are generalising them, or black people on the other forum when people are talking bull about them, or muslims on the religion board, or whatever, everytime I defend someone some ****** gives me thumbs down and it does annoy me cause it reminds me there are still narrowminded people around who dont want others to be treated with equal respect. Sad.

I have about 90% of my answers with a down to them. Some folks just like to soar through here and slap as many downs as they can onto folks

There are a lot of trolls in this section. Also, there are a lot of unhappy people who want everyone else to be unhappy so they put a thumbs down at any answer that could resolve the question in a peaceful manner.

I get it too, wouldn't worry about it. If you dont kiss **** in this forum then people see you as a cruel, cold hearted b*gger.. They dont actually think that you might actually be one of the genuine people on here..

Not to downgrade you but does it really matter. In this country one has the right to ask a question on here as well as someone has the right to answer it. You voice your opinion and they can leave it or use it, their choice and whatever anyone else thinks, so what. Many people dont even belong on here answering the more serious questions from someone looking for an honet down to earth answer but they are here none the less, mostly making a fool of themselves. All you can do is answer as you believe and then leave the rest up to the asker. Although some of the questions on here do at times appear to come from total morons, they usually get the answer that matches their question. Dont ever worry about what other people think as youre never going to meet them anyhow

I'm right there with you, the same exact thing happens to me. Ticks me off, because i'm only giving my life experience and it has a postive ending. I've been trying hard to ignore it, but man its hard.

I have my share of thumbs down but I do not care. I enjoy giving funny answers because they are spontaneous and I laugh at my answer. Silly questions get a silly answer (ex. I am home alone, what should I do?) or (my b/f g/f does not love me, what should I do?) But for serious good, thoughtful questions, I answer with the best of my ability and wisdom. I will look you up and give you the down or up thumb that you deserve.

It happens all the time. I get tons of thumbs down. One question I answered wanted to know how long you were together before you married. I got a thumbs down on that one too. People that have a different view point also give thumbs down. I only do it for people that are being ignorant or rude.
