  1. It is possible. We need just need more local productions. The government must find a solution to this. They kept on ignoring the cries of our farmers and now look what happened. Anyway we can only hope for the best

  2. Yes, eventually, but it will take time.BBC world news recently did an article about the rice problem in Phils. The research institute in Luzon developed genetically modified rice 12yrs ago, which is more prolific and disease resistant, but apparently this has never been rolled out across the country due to lack of government funding. It is a sad reflection on Phils, who in the 1960,s was self sufficient in rice, and Asia,s biggest exporter of rice. They were also the leading nation in rice technology teaching other Asian countries how to produce rice more efficiently.Unfortunatly Phils is now the biggest inporter of rice, importing @ 20% of their needs. Now there is a world shortage of rice,as farmers in Asia diversify into more profitable crops.

  3. Sir,it's a matter of supply and demand.Pag marami ang supply at konti ang demand, baba ang presyo & viceversa. Maari rin natin isama ang epekto ng ibang bagay like fertilizer at binhi. The problem are the hoarders, they want rice prices to go up,para lumaki ang tubo nila.Yan ang economic sabotage. Now,it depends on the government to show the hoarders, that they can't play around.Ilabas nila ang stock nila para walang panic buying.Pag lumaki na ang supply, babagsak n ang rice prices.
