I'm a Juvenile Detention Officer. I kind of chose my career by accident, but I love it because

1.) I love working with the kids. They're still at an age where they can change their life around and not become career criminals. It's great to be a mentor to them, and learn from them as well. It's about keeping them safe and off the streets, and keeping the community safe.

2.) My coworkers are wonderful. They're all very passionate about what they do.

3.) I'm not going to lie, the pay is great. I need a career that can support me financially, where I don't have to worry about money.
