  1. Nothing, Ottawa is one of the most beautiful cities in Canada, it is home to the world's longest, outside, skating rink, the Rideau Canal. Thee major rivers meet at mid city. There are many great eating places, a great museum of technology, a world class war museum, and it home to the hockey team, The Ottawa Senators.

  2. I agree with the above... Ottawa is a great place to live.

The public transit is annoying, especially if you live in the suburbs.  The highway commute can get bad also, but not nearly as bad as Toronto.

Also, if you don't speak much or any French, you may be limited in what jobs are available to you.  Although Ottawa is mostly English-speaking, we're right on the Quebec border and many jobs (especially in the government) prefer or require bilingualism. Of course, that depends greatly on what line of work you're in.

Besides that, there's a decent nightlife, plenty of restaurants, shopping and movie theaters.  We have the Sens, if you're a hockey fan.  And being close to cottage country and provincial parks is nice for a bit of fresh air.

  3. If you're comming to move in, these comments shouldn't alarm you. As the person above me said, Ottawa is a great place to live. Especially as a child. All the parks and the greenery make it seem family-friendly everywhere!

Unfortunately. There are a few problems with Ottawa. The biggest may be the underdevelopped public transit system, causing many hastles amongst riders. Though it is great to ride, frequency on most routes is low, and it takes long to get from point A to B.

Other than that, Ottawa is a great place to live.
