No bullshit, i'm not going to stick a rasta hat on and smoke weed like its a religion to get you if you dig what i mean that would just be offensive and i'm no student from knightsbridge. But i'm Irish, and i worked with a bloke once who had been to london and he said most of the irish bars were full of Jamaicans and west Indians, they just sat in their places chattin smoking drinking guinness and he swore if it wasnt for the obvious skin colour difference he thought he was back in Belfast. So i have to ask, why do people always say the west Indians are like the Irish and vice versa? I'm intrigued.

 1. Kilburn & Cricklewood,(irish community) not Brixton, and yeah, they do sit about drinking and talking all day, they have plenty of time on there hands (the west indians that is)...........nice life if you can get it.

 2. Actually, the only people who say "the Irish are like the West Indians" are the Irish themselves...presumably because they believe it bestows upon them some sort of "cool by association".

 3. have a look at the history of slavery and the empire days, you'll probably find that there were irish being shipped to the islands. There is a strong irish element and maybe the slave masters were irish too.

 4. I've never seen a rasta in an Irish bar. There aren't any Irish bars in Brixton. One thing I'll say about the West Indian community is that they know how to chill. I love it in the summer when you just see people chilling on the streets and just passing the time outdoors for hours and hours.
