(For the writers) Has a dream ever prompted you to write a story, song, poem, etc.?

I had one the other night that was so strange, symbolic, and vivid that I got up immediately and wrote it down. Now it is blossoming into a story!

I've been writing poetry and songs a lot, but I hadn't written a story since I was a lot younger. I'm excited! :)

yes it has. The trouble is remembering the dream because it comes and goes out of my head quckly after I wake up. I use to keep a dream journal next to my bed and that helped, but I got lazy and stopped writing them down.

Actually surprisingly few of my ideas for stories, poems or songs have ever come from my dreams.  My dreams tend to be pretty crazily random and nonsensical so that's probably why!
