Question:

For those against Feminism, a question?

For the last half hour, I've been browsing over some of the responses by posters to some of the questions here and have noticed not feminists being put down, but ordinary women.

I can understand why Anti-Feminists are against Feminism as it is a movement which excludes men and only focuses on women's rights, but I can't begin to understand why some anti-feminists are bringing women down.

Quote- "Women detest being turned down. Spoiled and self-centered by nature, her main source of power is her sexuality. Without it, she is lost."

I thought the fight was against Feminists. Now tell me again why people should support anti-Feminists in their fight against Feminism when such negative things are being said about women?

  1. This is just all part of the war of the sexes.  There are some men who resent the sexual power that women have traditionally held over men, and coupled with women's/feminists' negative attitudes towards men this is a explosover combination. Please note that when women express negative attitudes towards men, women claim that this is the truth.  But women have never been able to admit to any material degree that they can be, and often are, just as bad.

But there is an on-going, perpetual reconciliation between us.  Just walk the streets, or even go to any event, and you'll see us both, arm and arm, hand and hand.

  2. It is a bit ironic that some of those that are most adament about how cruel women can be to men, are those that are outraged that some women are also disrespectful to men. It looks like they can dish it out but can't take it. It seems extremely self-defeating.

  3. A single quote from a random person on an online forum doesn't prove anything; plus, you don't know if that person really is an anti-feminist or not.

""if Anti-Feminists really want women on their side""

I don't expect or demand that women is to be on our side..

  4. When I was a little kid, I was plump, and we were poor, so I wore hand-me-down clothes.  I was ostracized for being fat, poor, and dressing poorly.

It was discovered that I had a high IQ, so I was placed in programs for gifted kids.  I was ostracized for being one of the 'smart kids.'

I soon started adopting the clothing styles of the other popular kids.  I was ostracized as a conformist.

As a pre-teen, I changed my style of clothes and music, mimicking more 'rebellious' kids.  They ostracized me as a 'posuer' and the other kids ostracized me as a 'rocker.'

In high school, we had many blacks bussed in, and racial issues were a hot topic.  I was ostracized by blacks for wearing combat boots and was lumped in with the skinheads, even though I was simultaneously ostracized as a long-hair and a 'rocker.'

And on and on and on.

My point is this:  No matter who you are, no matter what you do, no matter what cause you stand for, you will face opposition.  Period.  In this life, there will always be people that you won't like, and who won't like you.  There will always be some kind of conflict.  This is inescapable fact.

At this point, most of the folks on this board have devolved into fighting about fighting.  Some people will always give you flak.  A 'reactionary' is, by definition, someone who only responds to the actions of others.

Be action, not reactionary.  Don't waste time on posts like this.  Address issues.  "Why are people so mean?" solves nothing.  Promotes nothing.  It only gives weight to the meanies.  It swiftly becomes a game of 'I know you are but what am I.'  Let it go.  Focus on YOU.  You will always have opponents and detractors.  It is more important to focus on one's OWN position, to strengthen one's OWN position.  Become a bastion of rightness, and you are unassailable.

That, and every stance NEEDS opposition.  When you do nothing but shoot down detractors, it is a dictatorship, a fascist midset, saying "you are wrong because you do not agree with me, with 'X.'  Every concept needs its balancing factor.  Yin and yang are balanced in their opposition.  If nothing acts on your negative aspects, those aspects flourish.  Where would we be as a country if we could not speak out against our president?  We would be like the Church of Old:  Obey or perish in flame.

While I don't support petty abuse, one should be able to weather it, because, if nothing else, there will never be a shortage of petty abuse or abusers.  However, don't play too much into fighting with these petty abusers, or you derail your own values, and become nothing else but an abuser of abusers.  A Yahoo's yahoo.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is this:  Often, I see questions posted that sound like, when you boil them down, "It's not fair!"  And of course, from childhood, we know the automatic answer:  "Life isn't fair kid.  Get over it."  The age old admonition to harden ourselves against petty obstacles, or we, as individuals, get nowhere.

  5. I don;t believe that the trolls have come close to doing the same amount of discrimination that feminists have, solonas for example.

  6. These are the few anti-feminists who can also be called misogynists. There's no reason to support THEM.

  7. You cite one remark.

Said remark can be true in terms of a negative aspect of the gender. Do you not notice when women write things like "Men tend to be more aggressive", etc? Are you playing the gotcha game?

    Look at above answer:

    "Men are retards."

  8. Oddly, I am not against feminism.

I am against the women who live in that hazy gray zone between tradition and feminism, who cherrypick their entitlements and responsibilities as it suits them.

Women who roar like a banshee when they want to display how 'empowered' they are, only to cry minutes later to garner sympathy from onlookers when the confrontation gets ugly.

  9. ....umm

  10. I don't think you should be a major feminist or a major anything. Yes men are retards but we can't remove them from the world. I believe in rights for all. I need help:
