For those babyfaces 21+, do you ever get tired of getting carded / ID'ed at casinos or bars?

Yes, I know when I'm old, I'll enjoy looking young. But for right now, it's so annoying that I get carded every 20 minutes when I'm in a casino (usually only when I'm standing around, not when I'm actually playing...). I'm 22, but I know I look much younger, probably around 16. I don't mind them checking me at the start, but WHY can't they leave me alone after that?!

The worst thing is when other people around me stare at me and then point me out to a security guard. Why do ppl have to be so nosy?! Was I bothering them? Do they feel like they're heroes for pointing out a potential under-ager? Were they hoping they'd get to see me dragged away in handcuffs? I don't get it. It's always old people too.

Anyone else wanna relate? Whenever you get carded, are you happy to show them ID, or do you give them attitude? Usually after the 2nd time, I start snapping at people. I wonder if they can still kick you out just for giving them a hard time...

  1. wow... people actually point you out to security?  how rude. I can relate.  I don't snap or anything, just pull out my card as if I've done it a hundred times in the last hour.  you might try being more active.  if you look like you belong there and know what you're doing they might not card you.

  2. Just simply tell the people that you were carded at the door and your realize you look young but you are old enough to be in there and if thats going to be a problem you will take your business else where! Do it! They will leave you alone!

  3. totally relate i was in this bar one time i was 22 at the time (am 30 now) they carded me at the door and i was fine with that then the waitress carded me i was like ok whatever you wanna do as long as i get my beer so she went away for like 15 min to go do waitress stuff and when she returned i was like can i have another beer please and she was like can i see your id so i was a smart a@@ and said what do you think i got 2 years younger in the 15 min you were gone she got all snooty and demanded my id and gave me my beer so we were like all right s***w this were leaving this bar but b4 we go lets get one shot then we will head out so i went to the bartender and asked for a shot and he was like id please and i was like no you cant see it im tired of showing it everytime i get a drink what the h**l is wrong with you morons ive showed it how many times already then began to hold up my id and scream everyone see that im over 21 good no more carding and thats when the bouncer said i needed to go i think its stupid if they card you at the door then you should be good to go i can even see stamping the under 21'ers so the waitress knows not to serve them but to continue carding people is a joke and herassment i believe

  4. As long as you are carded when you first came in you should be fine. I get carded all the time, I am 26, its just something that have to do since there are so many fake ID's out there. See if they can stamp your hand or something when you first walk in that way they know you are of age.

  5. I'm not 21 yet but getting there. People mistake me for a 10 year old all the time and I'm 19. Growing up, I'm used to it but it does pushes my buttons sometimes. There's been times when I went to eat out with my friends and I get the kid's menu and a kiddie sized cup of water. I'm used to it and I think it's silly and funny but when I hit 30, I'm going to be kicking it. :)

  6. sometimes you have to live with that, I am only 20, but I have really long hair, mostage, and chin, and I have been at clubs and all that since I was 18. I feel bad for my older brother, he is 2 years older than me, but he don't even have a hair in his face. Its just bad luck.

  7. I don't mind it really... Makes me feel better than the older lady who just went in and didn't get even a second look! YOu are right one day you will wish you got carded again lol

  8. it's a pain when I'm in a hurry, but I usually say thanks and smile (27) this problem becomes more of a compliment each and every day. Plus, not getting carded reminds a guy to shave:)

  9. Honestly yes it sucks very much. Not only do I have a kid face but I'm short so that dosent help. I'm getting used to it though I'll flip out my id like haha i'm older then you thought!

  10. Ugh I get carded ALL the time. Im 24 almost 25...I even get carded to buy scratch off tickets.  I got carded to go see dark night...meh

  11. I get bothered when I am asked to show ID at a casino I am 27 and people say I look like I am 16 or 18 but sometimes I am pleased I am aging gracefully LOL

  12. i get the same thig, hey atleast when i get older ill still look young for my age. nd sexyy

  13. Yeah! It happens all the time. I'm 24 and to some people, I look as young as 17!! Once I chaperoned a high school dance with one of my roommates and his students thought I was one of his students! Argh!

When I was in college I worked as a courtesy clerk at a grocery store. One day I put in my two cents about wine and this lady said I shouldn't even be thinking about alcohol! I was over 21!! What the heck??

  14. i got carded walking into the casino. and i work at the d**n place! lol!

  15. i am 22 and get carded religiously...i know i look like i am 17 or 18 but d**n. i have been going to the same lq  for over a year now and the same guy cards me everytime even when there is no one around...i dont mind because when we are old we will still be lo0king fresh and young while everybody else will be getting bot0x injected into there face.haha

  16. I get carded buying booze at Wal-mart. I am a few decades older than you and it makes me proud.

  17. Yeah its irritating.  What really bothers me though is when people feel the need to comment on how I look now when they check my ID.  I'm almost 25 and I've had three people just this week alone tell me they thought I was 16.  I could have lived with out knowing that or how pudgy my actual 15-year-old face looks on my drivers license in comparison to how I look now.

Usually when I'm in a Casino and that keeps happening I make sure I have a drink in hand, regardless of whether I want it, because most people will figure that if you have a drink, you've been ID.  And if that doesn't work, you can ask for a stamp or bracelet which sucks but it beats having people constantly bugging you.

That's really lame that people point you out to security.  I've never had that happen.  They should mind their own business.

  18. You constantly get carded because sometimes underaged people slip through the cracks at the door and the casino can be fined, reported and eventually (if it happens enough) be shut down for having underaged people on the property. If a Gaming Commission agent catches an underaged person there and cards them, the casino will be in big trouble. So dealers, supervisors, slot people, people in the cashier cage, wherever, have the right to ask to see ID of a person who looks to be too young to be in the casino. I'm 35 and I recently got carded! h**l, I loved it, though! Some casinos have an ID bracelet that securtiy can give you so you won't be constantly carded. I know it's annoying, but think how you'd feel if you were escorted off the property. That would be embarrassing. Also, be grateful that you look so young. I went into a casino with my husband. He was 31 and I was 27. They carded him and not me!! Talk about annoying!!!

As for whether or not they can kick you out for giving them a hard time, casinos are private property, so they can kick you out for whatever reason they want to. Plus, it wouldn't necessarily be for giving them a hard time, but for failure to show ID. Don't let whomever said just tell them you were ID'd at the door convince you that will work; it won't. If they ask, just show it to them. Even if a person is 55 years old, they're not supposed to be in a casino without ID. They can be asked to leave just for that reason.

  19. i usually get carded when i walk in, but that's about it

  20. tattoo your face

  21. I definitely know how you feel-- I'm 23 and get carded everywhere I go.  I got carded at the casino forever until they started to recognize me (I know, sad).  It bothered me at first, but, like you said, I will appreciate it when I'm older.  I actually really like it now.  I am a waitress and I constantly get, "Are you old enough to serve alcohol?"  It can get old... :D

  22. Nope! Next month I will be 33! I get upset when I don't get carded!
