  1. i do the splits to see how far i can go and the space left i stack pillow and i just sit there doing the splits while watching TV about 15 minutes and when i get up I'm closer to the ground Ive got the splits in a day doing that but its still going to hurt when you get all the way to the ground you got to keep stretching until you get comfortable good look its hard work :)

  2. You can get all the way down within a month all you have to do is get into a side split with good form toes pointed up then when you are all the way out flex your leg muscles for about 10-20 seconds then relax   when you relax you will slide out about 3 more inches than when you started do that about 4 times a day and you will make it all the way in No time

  3. it really depends on how much you stretch. if you stretch for 10 minutes everyday then you should have a split in a month tops. and heel stretch in 2 or 3 weeks tops. good luck :)

  4. It totally depends on how flexible you are, and how long each day you stretch. Everyone is different so don't worry if someone else can do the splits in a week and you take a month or so. I would recommend just to practice a bit each day. You don't want to practice so intensively that you can get up after stretching though - bad idea trust me! When you practice in the splits try going down as far as you can with it just stretching. Make sure your hips stay quare at all times and put your weight on your hands, or alternatively sit with your legs wide against a wall, but with this make sure you sit up straight (leaning in closer can make a better stretch too). Good luck!

  5. you just need to practice a little every day and after a while your muscles will stretch enough for you to fully do the splits! hope this helps! :)

  6. knel down(not all the way) and put one leg up have one person stand behind you and you wrp yur arms arounf=d there legs...then have themlift yur leg to yur head (without u slouching) then holdit and u shoud have yur splitz in no time

  7. jump off a couch with a really slippery floor underneath, it will help the process go ALOT faster.

  8. it took me about a year to get the splits. all you have to do is ...the splits. really. just go down as far as you can go and hold for about 3 minutes. do this everyday, and after a while start trying to take the weight off your hands. do both sides if you wish

  9. i was able to do the splits by the time I was 12.

  10. It takes a LONG time to get your splits down, but here is a great video that will help you tremendously. Hold each position for three minutes (she says thirty seconds but after three minutes your muscles relax and you can go much further) and do it at least three times a day.

    Middle Splits

on the middle go forward as far as you can when you poll your body in you'll come off the ground but hold yourself there for three minutes. It's the longest three minutes of your life, but it's worth it.

Also for your middle splits, you can find a wall and push your split against it as far as you can and hold it. Try and keep your hips on the floor.

I've been working on my splits for seven weeks. I'm almost there and I will admit to slacking off a little but just know it takes time. I've tried some of these new things from the videos and I've progressed A LOT

Once you get them all the way down, you need to put one leg up onto a platform that way your split is actually EXCEEDING 180 degrees, THAT is going to get you your split jumps. You won't be able to do them really well until it doesn't hurt anymore to do a split

    Happy skating!

  11. For splits, here's a good streach. (you'll want to streach your splits before and after for at least 3 minutes to make it most effective!)

Start lying down on your back with your right leg up in the air, forming a right angle with your body. (keep your other leg on the ground!) Then have some one push your leg towards your head, and you try to keep it at a right angle. then after about 20 seconds, stop and put your leg at a 135 ish degree angle...(Closer to your chest, going across your body.) Then have the same person, push it towards you again, and you try to hold it there.

I did this every other day, for a couple weeks and im down in my splits now! I also thought that this would be helpful for you to know...your split jumps won't be perfectly straight unless you are over split...I learned that in ballet. DO NOT start learning over splits until you have been down in your normal splits comfortably (with little to no strain...) For a month! You could seriously hurt your self and I don't think that would help your whole skating thing... I really hope that this was helpful!
