  1. Traditionally as usual, long waiting time. I'd waited at least 2 hours to see a doctor in Polyclinics and prescribe the medicine. And some doctors talk like no manners thinking that you want an MC only.

For student with uniformed are more worse!..in the impression of the doctors they want to skip class...

  2. Not sure if my experience could help you with your research!!

Not too long ago, i had a tooth ache in the late evening when all dental clinic has closed. I called the A&E dept in one of the Govt hospital near Tanjong pagar and they said that they had a standby dentist available. I went down to the A&E to get treatment.

1st I had to queue to get registered. (expected)

2nd I had to be checked by a nurse to record my complain/problems

3rd I had to wait to see a GP to confirm that I have a toothache

4th I had to wait for the dentist to come over from somewhere?

5th I was told that the A&E department do not have the means to check my problem as they need x-rays before they can diagnose what is the cause of pain.

6th I was prescript pain killers and found that the pharmarsy over there do not carry.

7th I was made to pay more than $90 for consultation after 50% subsidy by the government.

8th I wasted 2 hours in the hospital and end up taking pain killers at home.

    Problem:

    a. Policy is too rigid, why should one who clearly comes in for dental services had to go throught so many other unecessary consultation just to confirm that he has a tooth ache?

    b. They do not informed the customers properly, if they do not have the necessary equipment to handle emergency dental service, they should not have open the option to patient.

    c. Fees should be according to sevices given and not a flat fee. In this case, i did not get any treatment, why should i have to pay??

I hope your research will give some good suggestions to the hospital to improve their service. GBU!

  3. 1) Long waiting time

    2) Some doctors in polyclinics are biased towards students in school uniform who go for consultation. They think the students are out to skip lessons and refuse to give medical certificate. I encountered this nasty doctor once.

  4. I visited these two places few years back.

    1. Motorbike accident.

    2. Removal of cyst.

    Things I don't like....

    a. Long waiting time.

    b. Ppl there have not much feeling ( don't care )on the pain I am in. etc cleaning the wound.

    c. Chatting and laughing while taking my blood for testing. I get a 2nd "poke".

    d. To me or at lease I feel that they are just doing something that can give them a income every month. I could no longer find " A Care Giver " on those ppl anymore.

My answer may not be useful to you, as it had 'not much' to do with hardware.

To me, things that need to changed are the system and their heart.
