age religion, just how do you plan on forcing your new green new world order down our throats without a lot of blood shed in the process? You know we’ve learned a trick or two about sabotage from you tree huggers ourselves, Do you really think we will go quietly

  1. For ECONOMIC reasons--- not GW we need to start with this--

  2. Your response may be rather extreme, but the issue is very real.

In countries committed to the Kyoto protocol (i.e. explicitly not the US, China, India) their governments have committed to reduce CO2 (equivalent) emissions to below 1990 levels... in most cases about a 20% reduction.

In 2012 participating governments must achieve their targets and balance their books. This means they either sell their surplus carbon savings or buy their carbon shortfall from countries with surpluses. This is very real and very large sums of money that will move from government to government in 2012.

Each country participating in the Kyoto agreement has to keep account of their carbon emmissions, and these are audited by the UN so that the national deficits and surpluses are known.

The very big problem here is that in 2012, there will be more carbon "credits" to buy than surpluses to sell as most participating coutries are falling short of their targets... thus the carbon price will rise very dramatically.

Ironically, the country with most carbon credits to sell is Russia. The European countries will be sending Billions of dollars to Russia to buy their credits (which they have due to their industrial output declining since 1990 levels).

In New Zeland, a relatively 'clean and green' country, the cost of the carbon deficit is currently estimated by its government to be about $US100 per person. The money to be paid is real, so the government needs to somehow raise those funds. As with most other participating countries the plan is to tax the activities and processes that generate the emmissions to collect revenue to pay the debt. Energy generation and transportation represent well over half of this debt. The burden of this taxation falls on businesses and ultimately the consumers. Some companies will move their operations overseas to non-signatory countries to avoid the taxation. This is already happening.

So to answer your question directly "forcing your green new world order down our throats" will be achieved by taxation.

There is a really big HOWEVER in all of this. As soon as the populations realise just how much it's costing them personally and nationally to participate in a global carbon scheme they will change their voting habits very quickly indeed.

People vote through their pockets. “No democratic government in history, outside of wartime, has survived wilful actions that destroyed the living standards of its people for no measurable gain".

Voters will reject carbon trading and those that support it. It will become politcal suicide to support global carbon trading schemes. Bloodshed will not be necessary.

I hope this makes you a bit more relaxed about the issue.

  3. I think this idea has passed through lot's of peoples minds, certainly mine.  The current chaos over global warming is nothing when compared to what would happen if this idea becomes reality.

People won't be herded against their will for something they don't believe in.

  4. I like your style! MUAH!

  5. Actually you are playing right into their hands. Don't you know the solution to global warming is reducing the population?

  6. The same way Exxon forced gasoline down your throat: market forces.

Here's a "3-wheel death trap" that's as safe as what you're driving now, is 100% American designed and made, and gets 300 mpg:

At 300 mpg, it pays for itself over the life of the vehicle in savings on gasoline. So it's essentially a free car. And you're saying you don't want one? Wake up and join the 21st century.

  7. Have you considered counseling for your delusional phobias?

As far as "3 wheel death trap" is concerned, I personally can't wait to buy one of these:

Not only are they a blast to ride, but at 140 mpg I'll be saving a bundle on gas.
