  1. I also used to take Abilify. It made me feel like I had a scratching feeling in my chest(like something was trying to get out) I also kept tossing and turning and could not get comfortable when trying to sleep.  Also made me heart rate spike really high. I only took it twice and it drove me nuts both times. I would recommend talking to your doctor and maybe see if you can take something else.

  2. According to the Abilify website, "an inner sense of restlessness or need to move" is a side effect.

Personally, I was on Abilify and had the same problem. It never did go away for me. I talked to my psychiatrist about it and she changed it to another medication.

I have also had clients on Abilify who have had the same side effect. They ended up changing medications also.

I suggest that you talk to your prescriber, the doctor who prescribed it, to see if they think it is worse enough to change the dose or the medication. Since you are not sleeping because of this you should get an appointment soon so that you do not become sleep deprived which can make you start having many more symptoms.

    Best Wishes!!!

  3. I only lasted a few days on Abilify because of the horrible internal "restlessness," which is such an understatement of the actual experience.  My doc switched my meds.

If Abilify is your wonder drug, there are some meds that can counter the side effect if you don't mind taking more meds to deal with other med created problems.  Cogetin (sp?) is one.  There are others.

  4. it made me f---ing tired beyond tired. no matter how much caffein i had in me and how much rest and excercise i had it made me dead
