For those of you who bought Hybrids back in 2000 to 2003 when the cost of gas was good?

Don't you feel awful that you missed on buying something more cool like a sports car or an SUV when you had the chance when gas prices where less than $1.75 a gallon?

Hybrids were just a mere though back then, but now, they're a huge necessity... Back then, you COULD afford an SUV or sports car, but now,... you can't.

You HAD your chance 5 years ago, and you blew it. How does it feel?

  1. hey .. guess what......  Hbrids are fundementally flawed....  guess why..... well the figures they give for fuel consumption is based on the electric motor kicking in etc. In reality the electric motor doesnt kick in that often.. And if you are travelling highway speeds it doesnt kick in at all..  so you are burning just gas. with the extra weight of the batterries you are using more gas.... Look up on the internet  for myths of hybrids.....

So basically people who drive highways aot with hybrids will be paying more as their gas mileage is lower....

    Also see myths about biofuels....

A gallon of gas with 15% ethanol  cost the same as a gallon of gas without ethanol...    Ok ..  so ...  gas companies buying ethanol which is less expensive than gas to water down gas......  Now ...  heres a point ...    you get 15% less miles to the gallon with ethanol mix than straight gas.... sooo....  you have to fill up more spend more....  to  go the same distance as you did on regular gas.... SO whos fooling who....  ( just look around the internet  and you will see this...  Look up gas and ethanol the real figures.)

Why isnt gas less expenive when mixed with ethanol?? especiall now every were is selling the 15% mix....??

  2. This is not a very sound conclusion. People that bought hybrids back then may still own the same car. Gas has been over $2 per gallon for quite a few years now, so they've been benefitting most of that time period. They also paid less of a premium on the actual price of the vehicle.

  3. Wow, what a haughty question.

For the cost of a hybrid, taxes, insurance and maintenance, I can drive my VW bus for another 150,000 miles (or roughly 10 years) on good 'ol fossil fuel laughing all the way to the bank.

It doesn't have a catalytic converter to really p**s off the green hippy wackos, too.

When gas gets too expensive to drive it, I'll convert it to electric, because the chassis can handle it.

How's that for an arrogant answer?!  : )

  4. I bought a hybrid and two sportscars. I will be buying  the Maserati Granturismo soon and I dont like SUV's so I will never buy one. I can still afford them all cause I am filthy rich and it feels great.
