Question:

For those of you who deliver food?

I've noticed that as gas prices have gone up, my friends and I don't tip any more for deliveries than we did a few years ago. Have your hourly wages been going up, do you get a bonus for milage, or do we need to start tipping more?

  1. Not all places charge a delivery fee so when you don't tip out that's like not leaving a tip at a restaurant. They still rely on tips.

  2. I have been delivering for 3 years and we really appriciate the tips. We get a whole $ for a delivery fee. (where i work) But sometimes i will go way on the other side of town in the ice and snow and risk my life. And they want exact change back, to the penny. People just dont appriciate anyone anymore. Alot of people need money when you have an extra buck. When you dont have money to tip go to McDonalds.

  3. what do you feel in your heart.. do any restaurants truly give their employees perks other than christmas.  no

  4. Nope.  My boss just gives me more free food when I want it, then pays us for drive time to & from work.  As for the tips, SURE we appreciate all we can get but I don't think any of us expects it because of the delivery charge that you pay to get it delivered jacks up the price $2 for every $10 you spend!  It's way nice when you do it.
