I've had my VCH since august 6, i think its healed? but i dont know how to tell, i had no drainage or pain or bruising since it was done, but it stings a little when i pull on it [ i dont do that often just by accident =P ] so i dont know? one of the care sheets says 2-8 weeks and the other says 3-5. Maybe you can estimate how much longer it will take to heal? or if its healed? Cuz i want to change the jewlery soon in like a week or too should i wait?

  1. if its still tender to touch or pull, then its not healed... that said, don't go poking and prodding. Give it a few more weeks for good measure and then you should be fine, but don't rush into a jewelry change, it can cause you way more pain and discomfort than its worth.

  2. i would wait a few more weeks at least. august 6 was only a week and a half ago. and just because it says 2 weeks on the sheet, doesn't mean yours will heal in that time. the fact that it is still tender when it gets pulled is probably a sign that it is not fully healed. based on average healing time for most piercings, i would honestly wait another 2 weeks at least. change the jewellery september 1st, i'd say. or go back to the piercer and see if it is healed.

  3. Lucky for us ladies, that is a VERY fast-healing place on our body! Take care of it as you were instructed, and don't mess around with pulling on it or irritating it. Mine felt like it was healed the day after I got my VCH done, but it wasn't of course! It's ok to pull on it, but be gentle. When you can gently pull on it and feel no sting, then you can switch the jewelry.

Also, don't hesitate to call the place that pierced you. They can sell you jewelry, or you can bring jewelry in and they will change it for you. It's safest to ask them when you can put new jewelry in.

I hope they used a hoop..... I got pierced with a hoop and it made it easier to keep it clean because I can just twist the hoop around. Good luck, I'm sure you're almost done healing!
