  1. "Marriage" has always had religious/spiritual connotations beyond just being a "couple." With that in mind, I have long felt the government should get out of the marrying business. They should ONLY provide certificates of union that entitle the "couple" to the administrative rights associated with being committed to each other, i.e., rights of inheritance, ownership, power of attorney, etc. The government should, of course, have laws to protect abuse of children and the innocent. Beyond that, let the churches / synagogues / mosques / whatever decide according to their respective theologies whether the couple is married or not.

  2. Are you serious? Our constitution may guarantee equal rights for all,  but marriage is morally, biblically, and ethically a union between a MAN and a WOMAN!!!! To do anything other is an abomination and should have criminal charges attached to it. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. It is unnatural and disgusting. g*y marriage should be outlawed and even though the Liberal California supreme court overturned that ban a few weeks ago, voters will speak again in november. I will be there to do my part to keep marrige pure.

  3. The world is square

    The sky is orange

    Al Gore invented the internet

    1+1 =2

Opps unless you not a man and woman

  4. Because I am tired of g*y people shoving their gayness in my face. I liked it better when they kept their preferences to themselves.

  5. because it has an ancient tradition that i respect. i believe same s*x union with legal rights to buy a house etc. is one thing but the very root of the word and throughout written history, marriage means one of each gender usually resulting in offspring. it just stirs up trouble and is not necessary except to satisfy a moot point.

  6. I`m against g*y marriage, but not against the idea of a recognised civil relationship for g*y people.

I think that g**s should have the right to have their relationship recognised in a civil way, but it shouldn`t be called Marriage as that is a time honoured tradition of love between one man and one woman.

  7. Marriage is a Holy union of one man to one woman.  You can't alter the definitions because you want to.

I believe any grouping of people can make a family and I support the civil union of g*y couples.  I believe that a ceremony can be conducted to celebrate to the love/ union.  And I believe that the separation of said couples should costs as much as a divorce.  But the term Marriage is not appropriate.

  8. Because marriage is an institution between a man and a woman. And I'm tired of being called a homophobe because I believe that homosexuality is not approved of by God. Homosexuals can mock my faith but I can't say anything about their practices without being labeled as a bigot?!!!

  9. it was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Dean, and not just biblical but natural.

and if you say what about love? then what about it.. 5-10 or even 20 people could be in love but should they all get married?
