For those that closely followed Stephane Richer?

Question

He was a talented player and one of the best goal scorers in the NHL in his prime. I was reading an article about his depression and have a few questions:

1)I am not homophobic by any means, but I read that he supposedly had an affair with a French-Canadian male singer. Is this true?

2)He supposedly was depressed going all the way back to childhood. Was there a specific incident that started his depression?

3)For those that met him personally, what was he like?

1) Not that I'm aware of. Allo Police is not a reliable source of information even if you DO speak french as I do!

2) Supposedly so, but I don't know what started his depression.

3) I saw him at a Provigo once, getting a case of Molson Ex as would any Quebecois wanting to celebrate the St-Jean Baptiste with friends. I barely recognised him as he had a scrubby face a la Brett Favre, which he often did when in public and not in the mood to be recognised.

* Even in his prime (he DID have two 50+ goal years as a Hab) he wasn't all that great defencively and was very inconsistent. To die-hard fans like me, it was Pierre Larouche all over again.
