I had a small gap between my two front teeth, after a recent injury, the gap is more noticeable. My dentist suggested having my the gap removed by having my teeth bonded. How does this work, and how has the result been for those that had this done?

  1. My husband had this done on his front teeth. The dentist put this coating  (composite resin) on in layers and kept shaping it to get the right shape (like adding pieces of teeth). Twice, pieces of the bonding chipped off (a few weeks after having it done), so he had to go get it fixed and "sanded" down, but since then (it's been a year), he hasn't had anything like that happen and his teeth look normal. The dentist said it should last from 7-11 years, depending on wear/tear. At first, I thought his front teeth looked bigger (b/c I wasn't used to seeing them all filled in without the gap), but now I don't even notice and they look really natural and straight (I'm slightly jealous mine don't look that straight--lol). Good luck with that.
