How many years should the troops remain in iraq away from their homes and families for a war that's obviously not working? Don't they have a right to continue their lives?

  1. Actually, we've won Iraq, Afghanistan is another matter. The war was brought to us, remember 9/11? In case you think that is not true riddle me this. What did Georgia do to get Russia to attack them? You live in a theoretical world, not the REAL world. There are bad people that do bad things, even in the 21st century. Iraq sure looks brilliant now that the Russians are acting Russian again. We now have Super Bases, in Iraq, within two hours of Russia. Brilliant!!!!

The answer appears obvious, until everyone lives in peace and harmony with each another.

Edit 1; Iraq didn't have anything to do with 9/11? Hussein was paying Palestinians to kill Jews, $25,000 a pop. He had launched numerous attacks against U.S. warplanes enforcing the no-fly zone. He also ignored 14 U.N. resolutions, the last one telling him and his lovely offspring to get out of Iraq. He complied with none. 9/11 began the "War on Terror". Iraq was an enemy in the war on terror. Not anymore!

  2. They should come home immediately. They signed up to defend this nation..100% of the evidence that Iraq was a threat to us was wrong or deliberately FALSIFIED by the office of the VP.

Republicans STILL dont understand that Bush is just giving lip service to the American people so keep the troops there to steal the oil

  3. "The" war?  The US is now involved in several wars and trying to start new ones every day.  It will be the downfall of the US as it was with Rome and every other empire that became corrupt within while waging non-stop wars everywhere else.

  4. 80% of Bushes polices are working. Yea there is still some fighting going on in Iraq, but mostly between insurgent groups. American soldier deaths are down, some still die but bearly any soldiers are killed anymore. Obviously Bushes tactics are starting to work. The begining of the war wasnt great, but if you keep your mind of what was, then nothing better will happen. Think about the good thats going on now, not about what happened in the past.

P.S You people who dont support the war claim your peace loving people well, you sure dont act like it when you cause riots in the streets, commit sacrliges in churches, and wanna throw Bush in prison all because you think hes started this war to on purpose kill American soldiers, and Iraq people. Idiot!

  5. W H A T  they joined to fight they VOLUNTERED

  6. There will likely be a requirement for troops on the ground in Iraq for at least 40 years.

Under US constitution; troops have no rights as guaranteed for ordinary citizens.

  7. Select US investors feel their companies have the right to pump oil from Iraq and ship it to California refineries. That right appears to be given by the US government and hidden from scrutiny by the US media. That may mean the loss of lives of US and Iraqi unpeople.

Unlike Viet Nam, Iraq and Afghanistan have precious oil and drugs that will turn a profit. So, we will allow the deaths of many people to enrich the wealthy. Regardless of whether McCain or Obama is elected to the office of president, this war will go on for decades, as long as it enriches those with the correct investments.

Vote for an Independent candidate for president. Visit Mr. Ralph Nader's web site on the 12 issues that congress will not put on the table.

  8. history ?? well its hard to say; but judging from history we occupy 47 countries "militarily'..at present.."we have the axis of evil to face",and "we the people may need the new bases in iraq, to "finish the job....

  9. What is "obviously not working"? Provide a link that isnt biased.

Also, these brave men and women volunteered to be in the military, and to obey their legal orders. They know that before they ever sign up, something I'm sure that you would never do.

They have the opportunity to exit when their time is up, or re-enlist, which many do.

They do all of this because they want to, not because they have to.

  10. I doubt we will ever truly be out of Iraq.  Each time we have been involved in a conflict we have sustained a military presence in that area for 2 reasons, first to make sure negative factions do not move in to prevent progress and two, to have a US military presence as a staging area in case we need to go into another region.

  11. When you join the military your life is dedicated by serving idiots like Bush while they are President!

  12. Although I think that once Saddam was deposed and executed, we should have look for a way to retrieve our troops from Iraq, let me ask YOU a question:

    - Why do people like you didn't complain about the salaries and all other benefits that military staff were getting during peace times while playing war at the military bases for no reason other than *to be ready*?????????  In many instance, even to play war, they have to travel to other countries and even stay away from the families as well.

Simply because, you accept it or not, if makes you feel safe....but now, that they are actually doing what they learned and are actually earning their salaries and benefits, *running cowardly like a chicken* is a better option according to you........

    CUTE way of thinking!!
