For those who are hearing impaired...?

If you're deaf, can you hear yourself hum or pick up some frequencies from the environment around you? My friend is writing a screenplay for a class and her main character loses his hearing. Would he be able to hear himself speak?

  1. hi i am hard of hearing and i believe that it is easy for me to pick up louder noises than soft noises i have a hard time hearing softer noise i believe deaf people can feel vibrations as when they talk but um... i am trying to think but to hear themselves talk they read lips and try to sound out talking i can hear some but i can talk out words but as u might see while i am writing i spell things by what i hear not what i think how to spell the words so good luck with your friend's report take care  


  2. i am deaf i wear one hearing aid but can,t understand a lot of things

    with out it no i can not hear any one not tv nothing

    and when i hum no i don,t hear it .i can feel the vibration.  when i watch tv i have it set on words and i look at peoples mouth to try and understand what they are saying  and it depends on how much of his hearing he is losing he might be able to hear him self some

    he can get a special phone  tell him to ask his ear doctor a bout it they are free once he gets use to it he be ok  just be cause he can,t hear don,t make him no different life to me is the same but a little more hush hush
