For those who believe in the magical world: When was the first time you were referred to as a witch or medium?

At a young age I could see fairy folk and other beings that those around me couldn't. I do not remember ever being called anything strange till. I was 18 and was using a Ouija board. The board kept spelling out that there was a witch on the board, Well the only other time I'd been called a witch was when I played "Glenda the Good Witch" in the high school production of, "The Wizard of OZ".

I suppose the first time I was referred to as a witch was when I decided that was the path I wanted to follow when I was about 15. I called myself a witch. Now I refer to myself as a Hedgewitch, as I feel this is the closest word that describes my beliefs. Since I came out of the broom closet, so to speak, people do know me as a witch and call me thus. Those who I choose to reveal my religious leanings to, that is. I don't shout it from the rooftops

I can't say I've ever been fortunate enough to have a strong psychic experience in my youth but I've always been interested in that side of life. I suspect plenty of people called me weird, rather than "witch".

Ouija boards! Tsk, tsk! Probably your own subconscious at work there. Hope you don't mess with those wretched things any more.

oh, lets see...i never was a witch, but ive been called them before. ive been called a lot of things. i remember this one time i was called a freak, and i will never forget it. ive been called a freak before, sometimes for the things that happen around me and the things i do, and just playfully as a joke, or as a compliment, but this time was different. a few years ago i had to learn and see a lot of stuff. im kind of in a job where i have to know about stuff like the fae and spirits, etc etc. i remember when i first went to go see what some people call "faeries". the first one i saw darted out of the trees and plants, so fast that all i saw was a purplish blur. this all happen in about 3 seconds. it darted out, went right up to my face, made an evil smile, its hair floated up like it was underwater, and it just said "freak!", and sped off. that was my first encounter with them. ive noticed that some of them can have abilities, like sensing someone, know who the person is, etc etc, and of course they have the ability to not be seen easily. it seemed this one could tell who i was, or something close to that. i never saw that specific one again....

When I was fifteen.  I was on the debate team, and a member of an opposing team found out about some of my developing abilities and started calling me "sorceress".

It was kind of sweet, actually--I really liked him.  We still hang out now and then.

I probably began calling myself a witch a year and a half after I began my studying and training.That was only me though.

I remember though the first time a friend referred to me as a witch, was when we were doing the Salem Witch trials in history last year.It was towards the end of class and we had  watched a movie about the trials and stuff before the block was over.So i was reading a book I had, not really paying attention to what others were saying, when I heard my friend say, "Oh Andrew is a witch".Apparently a group of girls were talking about how cool it would be to be one.
