For those who have been to The Royal Ontario Museum lately

Question

Hi, I have a couple of questions about the ROM:

1) What do you think of the new crystal (renovation)?

2) I know this is a stupid question but are you able to see the dinosaur exhibits from the windows outdoors. My 4 year-old niece is afriad of dinosaurs and we would like to avoid the exhibit if possible.

1.  It's an eyesore.

2.  No.  You have to pay a small fortune to get in, and that's scarier than the dinosaurs.

i can only comment on #1 but , after hearing about the crystal on the news, I've actually boycotted the ROM, b/c I think the crystal is such a waste of money and completely out of character with the rest of the feel of the museum.

(for the record, i used to love the ROM and actually volunteered there when I went to U of T)

1) I think it really doesn't fit with the rest of the ROM, and I've spoken with some of the employees who agree that the building isn't very functional either.

2) I think that if you were to come in from the east side and didn't walk by it completely, you wouldn't be able to see it. You also could call them to double check which side the dinosaur exhibit is on. Last time I was at the museum, I actually completely missed the dinosaur exhibit.
