For those who have been to the p.i. was that barbecued beef of a stick really dog meat?

Not necessarily.  True, Filipinos in prior times have eaten dog meat, and while I haven't tasted it myself (out of fear of being feared by dogs and I'm a dog lover myself), the natives have told me that it's quite good.  I would ask the person "aso ito?", meaning is this dog?  They'll be honest with you, and won't feed you something you don't want.
