I use shiners all the time to catch bass. Stink bait works just as well.  I also prefer my bass battered and fried.

And once I'm done with fishing, I prefer to drink dark stouts or porters.  Imperial stouts like mentioned above are excellent.  None of that weak *** Guinness c**p.  Baltic Porters are also an excellent choice, check out Okicim from Poland.
