Or is it highly likely that it will get stolen?

  1. Every day that I was in lovely BA I had my iPod with me. My favorite thing to do after class was roam through the parks & go exploring while listening to my music. It was like adding a soundtrack to the city.

+, I know this sounds kind of odd, but it was sort of like a shield to me. I'm a tall, fair, green-eyed blond teenager, so I stood out sooooooo much, & literally every single day, every place I went, I'd have men hitting on me, and with the iPod I could just pretend like I didn't hear them and carry on. It also seriously came in handy my 1st wk in BA when there was a city-wide black out while I was by myself in Congresso.  I kept running my thumb over it so it was stay lit & used it as my flashlight to read the map and figure out how to get back to school.

I was there for six weeks, and nothing was ever stolen. This doesn't mean that you'll be as lucky in that regard, but I think if you're really careful you'll probably be okay. I never had my iPod in my backpack where  someone could easily pinch it; I had it in my pocket, with my hand on it, and was always listening to it. I mean.....always. If someone had tried to take it, I'd have immediately known...because my music would have stopped.

My mom had my ipod, laptop & camera insured before I headed down there, and I'd recommend you insuring your electronics if you decide to bring them.

Have a blast in BA. It's the most amazing city. I had the time of my life there......
