  1. The Lightsowrns are a very awesome concept. They do consistently swarm very well and I wouldn't go as far as to call them an OTK deck but more of the new and improved version of Zombie swarm basically. They work very well and most run cards like pot of avarice and dont have a problem with decking out at all.

  2. Well, I'm not too much a fan of the Lightsworns but they are pretty powerful and this theme requires the finishing of the opponent pretty quick because of losing of deck. I've played this type of deck quite a few times to try and get the hang of it and its pretty god but if you unlucky, then u will deck out. So, it could be either one. If u are good at handling this deck then u can get a lot wins, but can also lose.

  3. When I first assembled the deck, I did deck out like half of the time… That is because I played it like older decks such as monarch or DAD.

In truth, lightsworn force players to be extremely aggressive.  Notice most of them all have following attributes:

    1. Mill effect. Most ones make you mill 3. Paladin and rarely played druid make you mill 2. Judgment Dragon and Lightsworn angel makes you dump 4(at least angel is 1 time only). Also warrior will dump 2 every time other light sworn monster mills. (It WILL trigger multiple time if there are more than 1 other light sworn monster on your side of the field.)

    2. Ridiculously low DEF: take angel for example: 2300/200  any thing short of a tree born frog can take it down in DEF mode.  With the exception of J-Dragon and druid(which almost no one plays), I don’t think they have DEFs higher than 1350.  It mean common recruiters such as mystic tomato and shinning angel can take them out in DEF mode. They are for attacking, not defending

    3. Higher than average attack value for their respective level monsters: Level 8 J-Dragon is 3000/2600 and is almost a free special summoned( you don’t spend cards on the field or hand to summon it besides itself). Angel is a bit low for 1 tribute since 2400ATK is standard for 1 sac( but her GREAT effect balance it out). The light sworn dragon can be HUGE in mid-late game with trample!!! Lower level light sworn monsters has, 2100, 1800+300,1850,1700,1600,1000 ATKs.

    4. Awesome removal effects: J-Dragon, angel, monk, sorceress… amazing.

You must keep them on the field at all possible cost. Honest, necro gardna, threatening roar, my body as a shield, solemn judgment , etc. can do the trick.

Once they are on the field, they are capable of beating your opponent down with ease. Due to other decks monsters generally weaker… they will not be able to keep field presence.

Usually, you should win in 5 of your own turns or less. My tactic is almost always the same: do about 2000 or so damage with lower level light sworn; use their mill/draw effect to mill JD/honest  to the graveyard; recover JD(s)/honest(s)from graveyard; summon JD (s) in a turn for the game or huge damage (usually at least 4000+) to cripple opponent; or, attack a strong monster and discard multiple honest during damage calculation since their effects stack.

You do get OTKs often… especially if your opponent plays conservatively  and is running weak monsters….  2 direct hits from a warrior/paladin is 3600+; 1hit from angel +a lv 4 is usually 3600+ too. Light sworn victory rarely comes in the form of small arms fire exchange: meaning battle him for card advantage back and forth while dealing small damage alone the way. It almost always  come in the form of one or two HUGE turns for you.

Because light sworn is not suited for long term battles… More than 5 turns you will run into one of the following situation although they do not necessarily mean a game loss for you.

    1. He somehow managed to stall… and you DO NOT have more than 2 milling light sworn on the field ( you have wulf/used angel or hunter/warriors): which is OK. Since you get to draw your angel, sorceress, JD eventually for a huge hit.

    2. He somehow managed to stall… and you have multiple dumping light sworn: this can and will get bad for you. Because of the milling, you don’t have the normal percentage to draw the cards you need eventually such as all other deck types. (Simple: you wait for the only MST and it gets milled… things like that.)  In this case, you have few turns left. If you draw or can get back JD from graveyard, summon it and break the defense at all cost.  When you cards get low, angel can be bad for your own cause…(further thins your deck/can not activate if you have less than 4 cards left in deck)

    3. You had a horrible first hand and are getting owned… Don’t worry, prepare for game 2. Some times it happens since LS deck run combos that relies on the graveyard. Things such as 2 warriors, 2 JD, 2 traps can happen.  It’s the risk of the deck.   If both of you have a bad hand, just bluff and wait.  You are always 1 card away from your combo.

    4.             You have on the field 3+ monster and just dealt serious damage to him but he is alive. he wiped your field on his turn:  You are in trouble. Light sworn commits cards on the field fast... loosing many of them in a single turn usually means down hill from there. your best hope is JD as soon as possible... honest can help but not for long... If using honest, don't attack, wait for him so you can avoid his defensive traps...

Lastly, carefully manage your deck. Know how many cards are left in it will help a great deal.  It’s a fun and cool deck to make if you have enough money and is a fan of the old-fashion yugioh beat downs.

  4. It depends on the cards that you use and that you play because you will never know the outcome if you start making it work.
