For those wondering why the eight ball shot?

As I said I am a league player rated 5A which is near 6 level. I have a sort of trophy jacket that sports different accomplishments like National qualifier some 8 break and runs in competition and only 2 eight on the break patches. I won these years ago by accident as you might have guessed and want some of the newer patches only this time I want them won intentionally. I appreciate the advice concerning making a ball and running from there and agree it is the best general approach. I just consider my skill level good enough to pick and choose when I can afford the risk of going after the eight ball patch and still between defensive and offensive abilities still win the match. I will be experimenting with all ways suggested and see which seems to click best for me. I will post the results. A note to Dragons Fire I hope someday we cross pathes as I like nothing better then a real competitor to challenge and I feel you would fill the order well. Thanks for the comment, I thought I needed a change, so I went from Dragon's fire to SmartS, the pleasure would be mine!, as I love competition, and hope you can provide it, in any way, I would love it, it would be a good experience. Keep shooting!, I want you to be at your top game, when we play, and if, I think I will go and change back to Dragon's fire, I dont like this outfit. see you around Ya.

Fair enough

Just use the break I described it will also make a few balls and leave the cue ball in good pos. for a run.
