For volleyball is it sets in a match or matches in a set ?

Well, most people say that so many games make up a match, but the correct terms are sets within a match.

USAV is trying hard to standardize the terminology here in America, because all the other countries say sets make a match. It's confusing when they all talk like that and we say it our own way.

For example, I know that it is sets making up a match, but I usually say games and match because that is what is commonly said here at the lower levels.

A match consists of 2 out of 3 sets or 3 out of 5 sets in USAV club and the international FIVB.  

In the US schools, it is 2 out of 3 games or 3 out of 5 games to win a match.
