do they actually put spit and hair and stuff on the food? and is it true that they actually pick up food that's been on the ground and serve it? or is it all just fiction for the point of a shocking movie?

  1. I have almost never encountered kitchen staff willing to pick food up off the floor, at least not in a reputable, white-tablecloth setting.  A chef is too proud to ruin good food, although I won't say it would never happen in a cheap restaurant.

If you p**s off your server, they will certainly spit in your food (or worse).  A good rule of thumb is, if the order is wrong, very politely tell them when you send it back.  Usually this is fine on account mistakes do happen.  However, I would never send the same dish back twice because then the cooks get pissed off.  Some nicer restaurants have a policy that if the dish is sent back a second time, the manager automatically has to oversee its cooking just to prevent this from happening, however, if you are a jerk the floor manager is just as likely to do something awful to your food as is the server or cook.

  2. Please, this does not happen except in filthy dirty places where you can tell not to eat there. Chain restaurants, fast food, other nice, clean retsaurants, does not happen.  ALl activity is recorded on viseo camera for this reason and for liability. Even small bars do this. Get over it.....people that say otherwise do it to frighten people like you.

  3. Sorry to break it too ya love but yes ma'am. I have worked in five restaurants and at every one I have seen something gross happen to the food. lol My advice?... learn something from the movie. DON'T MESS WITH THE PEOPLE WHO MESS WITH YOUR FOOD. haha. Be a great customer and there is no reason for them to want to mess with what they are serving you. If you come in to a place and complain just to complain and get on your server's nerves, they are gonna complain just as much to their co-workers about you.... and i will leave the rest to the imagination =)

  4. it's definitely true.i try to go where i can watch the process, everything they do,which actuallymakes it hard still, but worth it.

  5. yes, i've seen things like this happened. So, whatever you do, don't make your food handler mad..
