For working mothers: How many ounces of milk to get when you pump at work?

And how often do you pump? I'm just curious I get about 24 oz a day. I pump twice a day. I feed my baby the 12 oz the next day and the other 12 oz goes into the freezer. On busy days I pump only once (bad since I work 10 hour shifts) but I still get 12 oz and that enough for her the next day.I thought I was having a production problem but after reading some of the questions and answers on here, it seems like it's normal! She feeds from the tap when I'm not at work.

  1. When I was breastfeeding, I would pump every 3 hours at work. I would only pump about 2 or 3 times at work depending on if I had time to pump as soon as I got there. I worked an 8 hour shift. I think I would get about 3 to 4 oz everytime I pumped.

  2. I only work 5 hours a day so I pump only once while I'm there. I unfortunately only get a little less than 2 ounces. I wish I got HALF as much as you!!

  3. how much you can pump doesn't really tell you how much you are producing

for example from 2 months on to 16 months the most I could pump was less than 2 oz (using a hospital grade double pump)

obviously I made more milk because my daughter was exclusively breastfed for 12 months and never starved (lol)

if the 12 oz you pump are enough to last the next time you are away I don't see any reason for comcern
