  1. I would say within about a mile is walking distance. Anything more than that I wouldnt consider being walking distance depending on where you are. If its in a bigger city then yes, maybe 2 or 3 miles would be walking distance. However, in a rural setting I would say about a mile.

  2. For me it's not so much 'how far is it' than it is 'what do I have to cross to get there?'  If it's technically close enough to walk but you have to play Frogger with the busy intersections that aren't pedestrian friendly . . .  then forget it.

  3. I live 4 miles out of town. One has to decide which is more important---going or getting there.

  4. One block

  5. For me any distance is walking distance. I'm a hobo and I've walked all the way from New York to California to Mexico and then I went to china and worked in a factory making cheap led toys until I made over a trillion dollars which I gave to Charity and went back to New York to live in an ally, in a trash bag, alone, where there happens to be a computer that works on co2 emissions. Global Warming saved my life, I almost died one day when I was stuck in Canada with -14 degrees weather when all of a sudden a co2 storm came out of no where and heated the space around me. I was hungry and I found a polar bear that got burned to death and I ate it good. 5 miles.

  6. well i would expect i wouldnt have to walk longer than 5 mins especially if you have bags and all.

  7. A hotel would be accused of deceptive marketing if they went by mi concept of "walking distance". In a city like Seattle, Vancouver or Boston, it might be 10 or 15 km. Those are great places to spend a day walking from park to store to restaurant [admittedly, I am gaining more weight than losing it through exercise].

Now for a walk around Lake Union (and to say hello to the troll under the bridge)...

  8. i mean i walk 1 mile a day to school and a mile back but i woldnt walk more than 2 or 3 miles maybe
