Why do you like forrest gump? I like it because it's a great story, has a great moral, and I like momma's sayings.

I love how they tie Forrest into so many historical events. Watergate, desegregation, playing football for Bear Bryant, buying stock in some sort of fruit company (Apple Computers) & John Lennon on the d**k Cavett show. I watch that movie every time it comes on. And LT Dan of course.

FG views the world through a simple, pure mind. He's different from everyone around him, not just because of his mental disability, but more importantly, he's different because he is free of the violence, the pervasion, and the cruelty that other people in the world have. Through his whole life he deals with adversity, with criticism, and with limited opportunities, but it never stops him from having a good heart.

Watching him go through so many life-changing events, having his dreams come true and his heart broken, you can't help but root for him.

It's a really touching movie, for those who haven't seen it, I would definitely recommend it.

Plus, he's from Alabama, which is where I'm from ;)
