  1. If you like to shop, definately take the outlet tour.  You take a charter bus from Florence to all the name brand outlets...Gucci, Prada, D&G etc.  I can't remember the tour bus line, just ask or do a google search and I am sure you will find it!

  2. go explore all the open markets!  all the goods are so beautiful and you can find some great deals.  it is so much fun to shop in the open air than in stores.  also, spend some time relaxing in the boboli gardens.  it was a beautiful place to spend the warm afternoon before heading back over the ponte vecchio for dinner.  also, climb the duomo to see the magnificient view from the top.

  3. Florence is beautiful. Some must-see places are:

The Duomo- Gothic cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore

It is possible to climb up to the top from where there is an extraordinary view over Florence.

    The Piazza della Signoria

It includes some of Florence’s main historic buildings and contains the most admired sculptures in the world.

    Ponte Vecchio

Old Bridge, has been built in 1345, this beautiful bridge, is only one who survived second word war, and it is the oldest bridge in Florence.

    Galleria degli Uffizi

This former palace of the Medici houses one of the most impressive art collections in the world.

    Museo Nazionale del Bargello

It houses sculptures by Michelangelo, Donatello, Verrocchio and various other collections

    Galleria dell’Accademia

19th century statues, Byzantine paintings, Russian icons, paintings by Florentine Renaissance painters, notably Botticelli’s Madonnas and above all sculptures by Michelangelo, including the original of the famous David.

    Boboli gardens and Cascine park

    Enjoy!

  4. the ponte vecchio and the david

  5. I lived in Florence for four months. Best time of my life. These suggestions are good thus far!

    Definitely:

-The Duomo and Baptistry (right next to each other)

-The David (in the Galleria dell’Accademia)

-Boboli Gardens if you enjoy parks (its amazing!)

-Galleria degli Uffizi (very hard to navigate and find all the good stuff so give yourself plenty of time)

    -Ponte Vecchio

    -Santa Croce

    -The Piazza della Signoria

Also, Florence is known for having the best gelato (italian ice cream) so be sure to stop in and get some! Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the best shop. :( sorry.

The best restaurant (my favorite) is called Acqua al 2.

It's located behind the Bargello: Via della Vigna Vecchia 40/R.

    www.acquaal2.it

They have the best pasta dishes I have ever tasted (like Pumpkin ravioli).

By the way, "40/R" means the number 40 and color red. On the streets of Florence (and most of Italy), red numbers are businesses, and I believe blue or black (can't remember) are for residences.

There are bars and clubs, many around the Via Ghibellina street... but I do not remember names. Sorry again.

  6. brunaleschi's duomo is definately numero uno, and to get a really great view of florence, climb to the top of the cupola (dome) or bell tower. If u really want to see the uffizi museums, make sure to preorder tickets online or by phone. we forgot to, and we had to stand in line for 2 and a half hours. Then all the old medici palaces are coool, and last but not least, te churches. I would especially reccomend la chiesa del santo spirito, cause they have a whole bunch of tombs and statues of famous italians. For hotels, i would definately reccomend staying in an agro-turismo (farm hotel) somewhere near in the wine country, because they have eccelnt wine, the best food i havee ever eaten (everyone eats together at a big table), and usually the hosts (who almost always speak english) have good sight seeing tips. And if u can, make a stop to Siena which is just as beautiful.

  7. Hi Beautiful..... ok,,, the Duermo... the museums,, the open market (with the brass Pig.) ... just ask about the pig someone will show you... there is another open market on the North side past the Duermo( the round cathedral)..... the Ponte Veccio bridge..... plenty of shopping and resturants .....watch out for the pickpockets,,, they are good......

    good luck

  8. MONEY!!!   You will want to experience the Ultimate Gucci store int he world. Its here.   Seriously.

But Also go to see the statue of Davide in the Museo academe (? spelling) its a small museum located behind the Duomo inthe center of Florence.

Always refer to Florence as Firenze while you are in Italy,

Go to Bolboli Gardens on the other side of the Arno.  Go to the Uftizi Gallery right by the Ponte Vecchio.  DO NOT BUY GOLD ON THE PONTE VECCHIO  its cheaper else where but do roam across the bridge it is stunning.

Find the Bronze Pig by the center Market and rub its nose for good luck.

NEVER go out alone if your a female at night.

Locate and Identify the pope that is buried in Firenze.

In one of the Medici buildings, i think, you can take a weird staricase down and be in the hiding cell of Leonardo deVinci, where he was held captive or was hiding I cant quite remember but its amazing...you can see his drawings on the walls that he did to keep himself occupied.

Do not miss the Duomo and the Baptistry located inthe same plaza.  Climb to the top of the Duomo its the most amazing view of the city.

If you need any more info let me know  there is endless things to do. Just staty together in groups and you will be fine.  Florence is very very safe but its never good to roam around by yourself at night in any city that u are not use to.
