Forbidden City not to forgive the line-up for the Ladies Day At Roscommon July 9th Handicap at Roscommon
Roscommon will host the Ladies Day At Roscommon July 9th Handicap will be raced over seven furlongs on Monday, 11th June. Assembled for the €4,830 prize money is a line-up of fifteen four-year and older runners.
Relatively successful during the new season is Forbidden City, Elusive City’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Blueberry. He cracked into the new season on 6th January in the Group Discounts At Dundalk Handicap (Division II) at Dundalk over
seven furlongs.
He ended eighth as the race was won by the 2/1 favourite, Elwazeer, who led the field by a length. Out of the five attempts that he made during the season, the best that he could score was two second places.
He qualified as the runner up in the Irish Stablestaff Association Awards 3rd March Handicap (Division I) on 3rd February at Dundalk over seven furlongs. He missed the race by ¾ of a length by which the 11/4 favourite winner, Naoise,
led.
Coming at terms with the third position was Cailin Coillteach.
Forbidden City’s most recent try had him stationed at the second position. The Ladbrokes.Com Mobile App Handicap was won by Cailin Coillteach who led Forbidden City by just half a length.
The 5/2 favourite of the race, Naoise, ended third on the track of fourteen.
He has not raced at Roscommon before but it is high time that he credits a win against his name now.
An entry to look out for is Mountain Mama, Mujadil’s five-year-old bay mare out of mare, Beenablaw. She has started her new season quite decently.
She finished right next to the 5/2 favourite winner, Naked Cowboy, in the St. John’s Literary Handicap on 3rd June at Listowel over a mile.
Her promising entry into the new season reflects upon her winning chances today.
The line-up is a mix of those who have already raced during the new season and also has those contesting for whom the race will be their seasonal debut. What will they be capable of after a long rest cannot be said just as yet but Forbidden City at least
has put some assurances on his profile.
