Force Freeze after making a successful comeback to the North American races, prepares himself for the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park
Up against the likes of Apriority, Big Drama and Calibrachoa, the 6-year-old gelding, Force Freeze, will try his luck in the Grade 1 Vosburgh Stakes on 1 October, 2011, at Belmont Park, which his trainer Peter Walder will use as a prep race for the Grade
1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint.
The son of Forest Camp, out of Antifreeze by It’s Freezing, Force Freeze is coming off a win in the Teddy Drone Stakes at Monmouth Park on 31 July, 2011, at about a distance of 6 furlongs.
On the way he defeated Jersey Town and Ravalo, with the winning time of 1 minute and 7.77 seconds. Prior to the Monmouth Park win, Force Freeze made his last 4 start at Meydan U.A.E, spent the last 2 ½ years there.
The Saeed  Naser Al Romaithi owned gelding, finished best in his last four starts in the Grade 3 Mahab Al Shimaal stakes over the Meydan Poly Track at the distance of six furlongs.
It was the only race in his last four starts, Force Freeze managed to finish on the board, as he turned in third behind Conveyance and the winner, Bankable, with the winning time of 1 minute and 11.52 seconds.
He made his North American debut with the win in the Teddy Drone Stakes, and now with limited options, his connections opted for the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park.
Vosburgh will easily be the best race on the Belmont card, with 11 horses with plenty of experience are pointed toward the race, and also in the mix is the defending champion Big Drama.
Peter Walder was anxiously looking to run Force Freeze in the Icecapade Stakes, but the race didn’t fill as expected, and the Vosburgh look more like a viable option to run Force Freeze in.
After getting shipped to Belmont Park, Force Freeze turned in a workout over the main Belmont track on 25 September, under jockey Paco Lopez as he went four furlongs in fast 47 seconds flat, and covering his final quarter in 22.92 seconds.
