Force India Adrian Sutil charged for Assault
Recent reports revealed that one of Force India’s drivers Adrian Sutil has been charged for assault on the executive of Renault, Eric Lux.
The executive has decided to take legal action against the Force Indian driver. This incident took place after McLaren’s, Lewis Hamilton, won the Chinese Grand Prix and celebrated his victory at a nightclub by the name of MINT.
Both Adrian and Eric were at that party where they got into an intense argument, after which it has been reported that they got in to a hand-to-hand fight as well.
At the Turkish Grand Prix, Lux had a clear glass wound on his neck, as a result of which, this news was revealed.
“In the view of the recent events which occurred in Shanghai on April 17, Mr Eric Lux has decided to file a criminal complaint against Mr Adrian Sutil for physical assault and grievous bodily harm”, a statement from Lux's Swiss lawyers said.
It added that as soon as this complaint gets registered, the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) and Force India will be notified. Other than that, it stated that Lux is not going to exclude commencing action against any other person, who might
be involved in this matter.
According to a newspaper, this incident took place when Sutil arrived with the 2008 Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, to the nightclub. The two drivers went to a VIP area, and according to some witnesses, Lux came out of the club with blood streaming
from his neck a few moments later. As a result, Hamilton left the club straight away.
“During a private event, there was a very unfortunate action by me in which I hurt another person completely unintentionally. I regret the incident and have apologised accordingly”, said Sutil.
At first, it seemed that this matter would be treated privately as it has nothing to do with the sport but according to this statement, Lux is going to take things further, which can create a negative impression for Force India and Adrian Sutil as well.
Other than that, since the team is quite focused about its 2011 season run, this is going to be a distraction for Adrian and the team and this matter can create some problems for both of them in the future.
Force India is currently in 8th place in the constructors’ standings with 4 points on the board. Both of the team’s drivers are looking pretty good up until now, as both of them are in 13th place in the drivers’ standings with 2 points
each.
The team is hoping for some improvements at the coming Spanish Grand Prix and they are hoping to score better results at the upcoming races.
