Force India Heading For Hungary Grand Prix with full force
Next year is to see the first Grand Prix ever on the soil of India, as the country’s capital, Delhi has announced it will host the 2011 Grand Prix. As the Indian authorities and Indian race lovers wait to hail the first Formula One race on their soil, the Force India team, also aims to attract as many Indians as any other international team in their home race.
So far Force India stands in sixth place in the Constrictors’ Championship and have been able to bag a total of forty-seven points. Whereas its drivers, Adrian Sutil and Vitantonio Liuzzi have collected  35 and 12 points respectively and stand at 10 and 13 positions respectively in the Drivers’ Championship.
As the team heads to the next Grand Prix at Budapest in Hungary, the Force India drivers as well as their chairman and team principal, Dr Vijay Mallya talked to the Formula One official website.
Adrian Sutil:
Last year the race in Hungary was not a very good one for the driver as he ended the Qualifying session at 17th place while he was not able to end the race on the final day and had to retire. He had similar luck in the last race at Hockenheim.
However, as he heads for the next race he seems hopeful, he expressed his view about the city saying that Budapest is a beautiful place to be at and it is always nice and warm. He said that after a cold and rainy weekend in Germany it would be great to race there.
He further said that the track there is a difficult one with a lot of corners and can be very challenging as it gives no recovery time to the driver before he enters into another corner. However, driving there could always be interesting, though the average speed there is very low.
Vitantonio Liuzzi:
For Liuzzi it is the first time that he would be driving at Hungarian Grand prix with Formula One. While talking about the upcoming race he said that he knows that the weekend could be a tough one for them as it is coming very soon after the German Grand Prix. However, he exclaimed that he was satisfied by the current form of the team as he thinks that the team has been strengthened to an extent to be able to fight for some points.
He added that like Monaco the circuit is extremely twisty and tricky and does not offer a lot of overtaking opportunities. He said that since they were able to do well in Monaco he hopes to see a great weekend ahead as well.
Dr. Vijay Mallya:
Dr. Mallya said that Germany was a disappointing weekend for the team as they missed out on points completely. However, he said that since they did not lose their position in the ranking, the team got off lightly with the result and have diverted all their focus to the next race.
However, he was resolute that this would not happen again as the competition for fifth and sixth place in the championship is very tight now.
On Friday the team would be testing their blown diffuser, which they believe is going to improve the team’s performance immensely.
The team principal, who is a key person in taking Formula One to India, is determined to get the best out of the team before the next season as he wants to take Force India home in great form and standing.
