Adrian Sutil of Force India team who ended up in the 7th slot after the second Free Practice Session at the 2011 Indian Grand Prix stated that the aerodynamic upgrades that the team had recently installed had been really helpful
in boosting their performance at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.
Sutil’s teammate, Paul di Resta was placed 9th on the time-sheets for the afternoon session of practice session, clocking 1 minute and 27.853 seconds.
Both the UK-outfit based drivers were praised by team boss Vijay Mallya, for whom this race holds emotional significance as it is the first ever race to be staged at his homeland.
Mallya’s earlier comments suggest how excited he is at the moment about this race taking place in India and his confidence in his team.
Sutil said, “We ran an aero upgrade on the car this morning and I could feel the difference in stability straight away, so I think we are going to run it for the race. The circuit is good fun and very nicely done. It has some challenging corners and there
seem to be plenty of opportunities to overtake. It should make for an interesting and exciting race on Sunday.”
The Buddh International Circuit has been receiving praises about its design and layout. The racetrack was welcomed by the Formula 1 world with huge appreciation and applauds and all the drivers are really happy with the way it has been built.
Sutil too admired the Buddh International Circuit and said, “The drivers have been praising the layout and we all expect a thrilling race. On the track today there was a great deal to learn, but we can be pleased with the work we have achieved.”
