Force India driver Adrian Sutil hopeful for next two rounds of 2011 Formula 1 season
Force India-Mercedes driver Adrian Sutil has said that he is hopeful for the next two rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season, which will take place in Belgium and Italy respectively.
Sutil added that he believes his VJM04 car will be stronger in a straight line of both the Spa and Monza racetracks. The team driver also mentioned that he is sure Force India’s aerodynamic package and its Mercedes engine will help them to finish their good
run on the grid in the next Belgium and Italian Grands Prix.
The Silverstone-based outfit is moving in the right direction from the last few races of the 2011 Formula 1 season. Both of the drivers Sutil and Paul di Resta are performing well for their team.
In the recently held Hungarian Grand Prix, the team driver di Resta made an impressive run, where he finished his race at the seventh place after starting from the 11th place on the opening grid.
His teammate Sutil was slow at the Hungaroring racetrack last weekend and he ended his race in the 14th spot.
The 28-year-old driver told the media that they are aiming to score more points for this season’s championship following a positive race weekend in Hungary.
Talking to reporters, Sutil said, “It's a good sign that our downforce is improving and the general stability [of the car] too. This will help us at Spa. We are still one of the fastest cars in a straight line. The switch of the DRS is very good, so it should
be even better at Spa and Monza than at other races.”
He went on to mention, “They [Mercedes] are always a hard competitor and are difficult to beat, but we showed it was possible at the Nürburgring and again, and we always look towards the front. But we should not forget about Sauber either. They have a good
race pace.”
The next round of the season is scheduled to be held on August 28, 2011 in Belgium.
Let’s see how Force India perform in the remainder of this season after coming back from the August break.
