Force India driver Adrian Sutil says German Grand Prix was a great race – Formula 1 news
Force India-Mercedes driver Adrian Sutil has admitted that he had a great time in the 2011 Formula 1 German Grand Prix race weekend.
Sutil also mentioned that he is pleased to get better results from the German Grand Prix held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Nürburgring.
The team driver discussed the German Grand Prix and added that the car was supportive for the team and that the new Pirelli tyres provided them comfortable run throughout the Nürburgring race weekend.
The German had a very close fight with Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg in the final laps of the race at the German race circuit. The Force India driver added that he made a right call with the strategy in the closing laps and beat Rosberg in the end. Sutil
finished his Nürburgring race at the sixth place ahead of Mercedes driver Rosberg, who completed his race in the seventh spot.
Talking to the media, Sutil said, “It was actually quite a lonely race for me because I spent most of the time running in clean air so I could really show the potential of the car. To get this result in my home race also makes it extra special and I'd like
to thank the fans for their support this weekend.”
After the race, the 28-year-old driver mentioned that he needs to make a lot of improvements in terms of performance in the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season despite his decent results in Germany.
He is looking forward to score more points in the upcoming race weekends of the ongoing season following a positive Nürburgring race weekend.
Sutil further said that he is aiming to challenge their current competitors of the season in the next races. On the other hand, Force India principal Vijay Mallya stated that he is delighted with his team’s results in Germany.
Mallya added, “Today has been a wonderful team performance and I'm delighted to see Adrian finish in sixth place. We have been a bit unlucky in the last few races, but today we demonstrated the true pace of the car and delivered the result to match it.”
The next round of the 2011 season will take place on July 31, 2011 in Hungary. Let’s see how Sutil performs over there following his positive German Grand Prix.
