Force India driver Adrian Sutil vows to challenge teammate Paul di Resta in qualifying – Formula 1
Force India driver Adrian Sutil has said that he is eager to improve his qualifying pace and challenge his teammate Paul di Resta in terms of qualifying statistics in the second half of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
“I can do better, I was not in good shape sometimes and had problems with tyres and other things with the car. Sometimes it was just not enough and I was just 100th of a second behind him [di Resta], but at the end of the year you just look at and say in
this qualifying I lost against him - that's how it is,” he said.
Nine races have been completed so far in the season and there are just 10 more to go. Sutil has not been able to cope up with his teammate during qualifying as di Resta scored better results than him on 7 occasions out of 9.
Sutil is more experienced that the young rookie who is currently competing in his first ever Formula 1 season.
Force India as a whole are looking quite promising once again this year as they have secured 12 points up until now and with the team qualifying in Q3 most of the times in the 2011 Formula 1 season, it is evident that their pace is quite competitive this
season.
The team is currently in 8th place ahead of Williams and they are just 5 points short of Toro Rosso who are in 7th place with 17 points.
However, Sutil believes that the season is nowhere near over yet and that the team can improve massively.
“There is still a long way to go, my races have gone much better so I think I can shine most of the time and score the points and that's what it's all about in the end and the most important thing,” said the Force India driver.
It is believed that the team might have a drivers’ line-up shuffle before the 2012 Formula 1 season as Nico Hulkenberg, their test driver, is interested in a possible race seat deal with the team.
