Formula 1 driver Adrian Sutil is driving for Force India-Mercedes from the 2008 season. He has scored some points for his current team in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far.
Sutil joined Formula 1 sport in 2006. Midland F1 team selected him as a test driver and he drove for them during the Friday Practice sessions throughout the 2006 F1 season.
The German switched to Force India team in 2008 and learnt all the various aspects of the sport by staying with them.
After a successful 2011 winter test session, Sutil took part in the season with hopes of getting better results for the team as compared to the 2010 Formula 1 season.
He had a good start to the ongoing season, as he finished his first race in the top ten positions. In the 2011 Australian Grand Prix, Sutil came at the ninth place after starting from the 16th position on the grid.
The team driver was happy with his Albert Park race results, as he successfully scored some points for the team in the first round of the season.
The German was unable to show his best performance in the 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix. He finished his second round of the season at the 11th place following his disappointing qualifying round at the Sepang International Circuit.
In the following Grand Prix, Sutil was pushed back in the midfield, as his car did not support him throughout the Chinese race weekend. After struggling a lot on the new 2011 Pirelli tyres, he ended his race at the 15th position
at the Shanghai International Circuit.
He tried to close his gap from the strong teams in the Turkish Grand Prix, but after a fight with Mercedes GP’s Michael Schumacher and Sauber’s Sergio Perez he came in the 13th spot in the end.
Sutil was again at the 13th place in the Spanish Grand Prix after struggling a lot on the sets of supersoft and soft compounds.
The Silverstone-based outfit driver was back on the grid in the 2011 Monaco Grand Prix, where he finished his race at the seventh place after starting from the 14th position on the Monte Carlo street circuit.
Sutil could not finish his race in wet conditions at the Canadian Grand Prix. He retired from the race after completing 49 laps due to an accident.
In the 2011 European Grand Prix, he put Force India at the ninth place after starting from the 10th position on the opening grid.
The team driver was unable to complete his run in the top ten positions at the Silverstone racetrack, as Schumacher and Toro Rosso’s Jaime Alguersuari successfully beat him during the British Grand Prix.
Sutil bounced back on the racetrack in the 2011 German Grand Prix, as he finished his Nurburgring race in the sixth place after struggling on the sets of medium and soft tyres by Pirelli.
He did not have a good time during the Hungarian Grand Prix. He could not make improvement in terms of performance after staring from the 8th place on the grid. After a fight with Perez and Williams’ Rubens Barrichello in the closing
laps, he finished his Budapest race at the 14th place.
Let’s see how he performs in the rest of the 2011 Formula 1 season following his disappointing Hungarian race weekend.
