Force India driver Paul di Resta: I want to beat the other 23 drivers – Formula 1 news
Force India-Mercedes driver Paul di Resta has said that he wants to beat the other 23 2011 Formula 1 drivers in the British Grand Prix, after finishing his qualifying run at the sixth place on Saturday, July 9, 2011.
Di Resta made very impressive progress in the qualifying round of the British Grand Prix, where he completed his run at the sixth place ahead of the Williams’ Pastor Maldonado, who ended up at the seventh place.
After a successful qualifying round, the Brit said that he is confident for Sunday’s race and that he is sure he will show a better run in the British Grand Prix.
The team driver further added that he is quite happy with his qualifying results and that the whole team did a great job in Qualifiers.
Di Resta discussed his qualifying round in Silverstone and said, “Maybe this track suited us, I don't really know. All you can do is go to the grip you've got. Even with the regulation change we seem to be very comfortable with where the car is and nothing
is sticking out that is causing huge problems.”
The 25-year-old driver went on to add, “Our aim and ambition was to get into Q3. We have been relatively very competitive when we have been on track this weekend; whether it is wet or dry, and even in the morning it felt quite good. We got through and the
last lap I did on Q3 was on the edge.”
He told the media that he had a very close fight with McLaren’s Jenson Button in the ending time of Q3. However, Button was faster than him and he successfully beat the Brit.
Apart from that, he appreciated his home crowd as they were very supportive for him over the qualifying sessions.
After a successful qualifying round at the Silverstone racetrack, di Resta is looking forward to get a very close place to the current competitors of the 2011 Formula 1 season in the British Grand Prix.
Let’s see how he manages his race on Sunday following his strong progress.
