Force India driver Paul di Resta aims to qualify in top ten in Indian GP – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Paul di Resta has said that they are aiming to qualify in the top ten in the 2012 Indian Grand Prix which is going to be held at Buddh International Circuit this weekend.
The Silverstone based team has performed impressively well in the season until now and surely deserves to be considered as one of the most competitive mid-field contenders in this year’s championship fight. Moreover, after attaining promising result in the
Korean GP, they are eagerly looking forward to perform well in the forthcoming race so as to make their position stronger in the championship.
Di Resta has said that they need to work really hard to attain the desired result in the race ahead. He also said that they are targeting to secure higher grid slots.
“We’ve got to go there and qualify in the top ten. That will get us in contention and allow us to concentrate on the race”, he said.
Furthermore, he said that they were quite competitive in India during the preceding season and they are eagerly waiting to come up even stronger this time.
“All year we’ve shown that we have a car capable of reaching Q3, but the grid is very close and we don’t have any margin so we need everything to come together perfectly. Also, based on our performance last year, we looked quite competitive at this track
so you’ve got to hope that will carry over for this year,” he added.
On the other hand, his teammate, Nico Hulkenberg, who secured an inspiring 6th place finish in the last race, said that they need to carry on their good form in the remaining four races to beat their major rival, Sauber. In addition, he said that
they are making the essential step-ups in their car to improve its pace for the approaching race and are hoping to achieve good points.
Besides, the team principal, Vijay Mallya said that this weekend’s race is very special for them. Additionally, he said that they are going to try their best to accomplish their target to catch up the Swiss team before the conclusion of the season.
