Force India driver Paul di Resta believes they have potential to attain good results – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Paul di Resta has said that they have got the potential to attain competitive results in the 2012 Formula 1 season ahead.
Di Resta said that there are still nine grands prix left in the current season in which they can achieve reasonable points to improve their overall position in the championship fight.
Furthermore, he said that they had performed really well during the last year and are hoping to secure a good position in this year’s championship too. He also said that they are confidently looking forward to close the gap to the teams in the front including
Williams and Sauber so as to become the most competent midfield contender.
“There's still a long way to go in the championship and we need to get back to scoring regular points,” he said. “Last year we ended the season strongly and we need to do the same this year. Williams are not too far ahead of us but Sauber have a big points
advantage and it's going to be a big task to overcome that. But we won't give up; we'll keep pushing and see what we can do. We definitely have the potential to get some big results before the end of the year.”
It will be important to mention that Paul di Resta has shown some remarkable performances in the first eleven races and is standing at 13th place in the drivers’ championship with 27 points. Additionally, he is ahead of Felipe Massa of Ferrari
and is behind the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher of Mercedes.
At present, the Silverstone based team is standing at 8th position in the constructors’ championship and are aiming to improve their pace in the second half of the season so as to be able to secure 6th place finish in the title fight.
Over and above, they are trying their best to make the needful advancement to enhance their pace in the upcoming races and are eying to come up stronger in the Belgian GP next weekend.
Let’s see how they show up in the remaining nine races after the August break.
