Force India driver Paul di Resta hopes to score his first podium soon – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Paul di Resta has said that they have worked really hard to develop a competent car in this season and he is hoping to score his first podium
soon.
Di Resta has been considered as one of the most talented drivers in the sport. He took a convincing start to this season and managed to secure 8th place
finish in the Australian Grand Prix held at Albert Park in Melbourne after taking setting off from 9th grid slot.
Although, he could not score even a single point in the Malaysian GP as he was retired, but he delivered a reasonable performance in the third round at the Shanghai
International Circuit in China and managed to score four points for his team with his 8th position.
The British driver impressed everyone with his remarkable performance in the Bahrain GP as he came 4th after qualifying for 5th grid position.
He has expressed that they are immensely pleased with their performance in the last race as they scored some competitive points in the championship.
Besides, he said that they are working very hard to keep on making the essential developments in their car so as to attain better results in the approaching races.
He also said that he is eying to secure his career’s first ever podium finish soon.
“We've got to feel very happy with how things are going and I want to congratulate everybody in the team,” he said. “We took a very sensible approach to the winter
and focussed on understanding the key areas that drive performance, which seems to have paid off.”
“It's important to pick up good points early in the season against our competitors and to be ahead of McLaren after four races is a credit to the team and a nice
feeling. Of course we want to be on the podium and it was very close in Bahrain, but I'm sure it will come soon enough,” he added.
In addition, he stated that they are looking forward to compete well with their rivals in the approaching races in order to make their mark stronger in this year’s
championship.
