Force India eagerly looks forward to 2012 Indian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Force India are eagerly looking forward to attain good result in the 2012 Indian Grand Prix which is to be held at Buddh International Circuit this weekend.
Nico Hulkenberg of the Silverstone based team has performed impressively well in the season until now and after securing sixth place finish in the Korean GP, he is now standing ahead of his teammate, Paul di Resta in the drivers’ championship.
Hulkenberg said that he is really happy with his result in the preceding race and admired the efforts of his team for making the essential step-ups in the car. Furthermore, he said that they are in a very good form and they need to carry on the momentum
in the remainder of the season so as to secure a competitive position in this year’s championship.
“I feel comfortable and confident in car and team is doing good job. We’ve just got good rhythm and momentum, and that’s so important in Formula One”, he said.
In addition, he said that there are still four races to go and they need to keep on working hard to make the substantial developments in their car in order to fight with their opponents.
“I’ve still had some tough weekends, like Monza and Singapore, but on whole things have been going well. We just need to make sure we can repeat what we did in Korea during final four races. We really need to stretch ourselves to get everything we can from
remaining races,” he added.
Besides, the team principal, Vijay Mallya said that they are keenly looking forward to their home race which is going to be held this weekend. Additionally, he said that they can still beat their main competitor, Sauber in the constructors’ championship.
“I remember how proud I felt last year to see our cars racing in India in colours of the Indian flag,” Mallya said.
Even though, the Hinwil based team has a strong lead of 27 points over Force India. Nevertheless, Mallya said that it is not impossible for them to catch the Swiss squad and they are planning to come up with the necessary upgrades to close the gap in the
forthcoming race.
