Force India lack confidence in upgrades for 2012 Spanish Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Force India are lacking confidence in their new updates which they have made and evaluated during the in-season test held at Mugello circuit so as to enhance the pace of their car in the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix.
The Silverstone-based team is currently standing at 8th place in the constructors’ championship with 17 points. Moreover, they are 11 points ahead of Toro Ross and just 1 point behind Williams.
Furthermore, Force India driver, Paul di Resta is presently at 10th place in the drivers’ standing with 15 points. Besides, he is following Sergio Perez of Sauber-Ferrari and is ahead of Bruno Senna of Williams.
On the other hand, Di Resta’s teammate, Nico Hulkenberg is at 16th position in the drivers’ rankings in the season so far and has only been able to score 2 points. Nevertheless, the German driver has expressed that they are looking forward to perform well
in the Spanish GP at Circuit de Catalunya on May 13, in order to score some reasonable points.
The team principal of Force India, Vijay Mallya has expressed that in order to make the essential preparations for the European season, they have made the necessary evaluations of the upgrades during the Mugello test last week.
“Now that the European season is upon us, we should be able to bring through more updates to the car. That will start this weekend when we run with some of the new parts we evaluated in Mugello last week,” he said.
Nonetheless, he has said that they are not sure about the updates they have made in the car because no predictions can be made about the next race as there have been four different winners in the first four races who ran the cars on entirely different setups.

“We may be approaching the fifth race of season, but it's still difficult to get a true read on the relative competitiveness of all the teams,” he said. “Each race has thrown up different surprises and it's difficult to make any predictions before qualifying
or the race.”
Over and above, they are trying their best to make the substantial developments so as to improve their performance in the upcoming season.
